The bail petition of former Tripura PWD minister and veteran CPI-M leader Badal Choudhury was rejected on Wednesday night.
After a day-long drama, the district and session judge Sabyasachi Datta Purokayastha pronounced the judgment at 11.35 pm on Wednesday night.

The bail petition hearing was done at 3.10 pm earlier in the afternoon.
The judge takes more than eight hours to pronounce the judgment.

The rejection has now paved the way for his arrest.
Badal Choudhury’s lawyer told media who were waiting at the court premises late night that they will move High Court on Thursday.

But vacation is going on at Tripura High Court and they will appeal for a special court.
Since Wednesday night, the state police raided several places to nab Badal Choudhury.
But still he is far from the hands of police.
At night 12.10 am, the police raided at CPI-M state headquarter located at Agartala.
The party workers first did not allow the police to enter into the office premises without any search warrant.
However, police entered into the party office forcibly.
But they did not found anything there.
Police also raided MLA hostel numner two, where CPI-M MLAs are staying.
After the raid, DGP Akhil Kumar Shukla told reporters Badal Choudhury was not found in the MLA hostel.
SP of West Tripura District Ajit Pratap Singh also said they have raided several party offices and residences of CPI-M leaders but still now there is no trace of Badal Choudhury.
At late night police raided the office of leading Bengali daily, ‘Daily Desher Katha’, considered as the CPI-M mouthpiece.
The employees of that news paper house resisted police, telling iIt’s a news paper office and police cannot enter without any valid document.’
But police entered into the office and conducted search operation.
But came back with empty hands.
On Thursday morning police detained former CPI-M MP Narayan Kar from his residence and two personal guards of Badal Choudhury.
They are now at West Police station of Agartala and police is still interrogating them.
It is notable that, on last Sunday night the vigilance department lodged an FIR against Badal Choudhury, Sunil Bhowmik and Yash Pal Singh.
The case was registered on allegations of Rs 600 crore PWD scam.
The FIR was filed after gathering observations from the PWD and a vigilance enquiry on this issue.
The case registered under the section of 409, 418, 420, 201, 120B IPC and 13 PC against the trio.
On that night Sunil Bhowmik was arrested.
But police could not nab Badal Chudhury after several raids in different places across the State.
On Monday Badal Choudhury got interim bail from the court.
