Hojai district administration organised an awareness meeting on atrocities against women and girls at Desh Bandhu Vidyapith High School Premises on Sunday.

Talking to Media, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kakoli Baruah and OC Kiteshwar Baniya said, “This meeting is mainly organised to empower women and girls against atrocities committed on them.”

They said, “We want women and girls to be aware of their rights and actions they can take against  domestic violence.”

“We have also discussed about the upcoming NRC draft which is going to be published on June 30. People should not panic at all and for any information related to NRC they can contact us.” Baruah and Baniya added.

Educationist Kamal Dutta, professor of Hojai Girl’s College Sumita Debnath and many other guests spoke on this occasion and shared their views with examples.
