Award Winning Assamese writer Rita Chowdhury, is set to be a speaker at the Jaipur Literary Festival this year.
The noted author, who rose to fame with works such as Deo Langkhui (The Divine Sword), Makam, will grace the occasion. The lit fest will take place from January 25-29 at The Diggi Palace Hotel in Jaipur.
Chowdhury, most recently has been on the receiving end of nationwide praise, as the author of Makam (Chinatown Days). The former Associate Professor at Cotton University is currently serving as the Director of National Book Trust.
The Jaipur Literary Festival, since its inception in 2006 has been an annual occurrence, which attracts writers, poets, playwrights and literature enthusiast from both the country and around the world.
The main attraction this year will be a discussion by Academy Award winning playwright Sir Tom Stoppard on his life and work in a fascinating and free flowing session entitled “The Real Thing”.
