An Assistant Commandant of B-6 UID No 812 RPF Company was shot dead by a constable at mini secretariat at Mawkyrwat in Meghalaya on Sunday for not granting leave. The incident took place at 11.30 AM Sunday morning.

According to sources constable Arjun Deshwal pumped bullets from his service AK rifle on Assistant Commandant Mukesh C Tyagi who was on election duty. A scuffle broke out during the incident in which constable Joginder Kumar received bullet injury on his arm. He was sent to NEIGRIHMS for further treatment.
Inspector Pradeep Meena and sub-inspector Om Prakash Yadav also received minor injuries.
SP of South West Khasi Hills district Herbert G Lyngdoh told Northeast Now that accused constable Arjun Deshwal had been arrested and his service rifle was seized. Post mortem was carried out on deceased Asst Commandant Mukesh C Tyagi at NEIGRIHMS in Shillong. Sources told Northeast Now altogether 13 ammos were shot at Assistant Commandant Mukesh C Tyagi by constable Arjun Deshwal.
