With the counting of votes underway in Meghalaya, in the hotly-contested Assembly polls of 2018, as per the latest reports in Meghalaya, Congress won 11 and led in 9, NPP bagged 5 and leading in 14, others in 15.

North Tura (2nd Round): NPP Thomas Sangma 3264, INC Noverfield Marak 2258.
South Tura: BJP Billykid Sangma leading with 2164, NPP Agatha Sangma 1286 votes.

In this year’s assembly polls, BJP went all out to form government in the northeastern state Meghalaya. Home Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP Party President Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi have all campaigned extensively in Meghalaya, ahead of the polls.
