A self-taught musician, Langthasa sings about right-wing fundamentalism, corruption, celebrity controversies, natural or man-made disasters and what the government is doing to evacuate the victims.
His music throws light on the truth whilst harnessing an unperturbed and fun connection with the listeners. He has so far racked up more than 130 songs on his YouTube channel, both parodies and original compositions.
Last year, he organised a sing-in protest in support of 3,000 municipal workers in Haflong who hadn’t been paid their salaries since September 2016.
His parody version of the theme song of Namami Brahmaputra, the biggest river festival held in Assam last year, was removed from Facebook and YouTube after popular singer Papon reported the admins of the sites.
Besides composing, Papon sung parts of the theme song along with a whole lot of renowned Assamese and nationally acclaimed singers.
