Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court will hear Siddharth Sharma’s pleas on Tuesday seeking permission to reopen the drinking water factory known as Mahavir Aqua and continue operating a bank account linked to the case involving Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.
The court had earlier rejected both pleas, but during the last hearing, Sharma’s counsel requested more time to file objections against the decision.
The court granted the request and scheduled the next hearing for August 11.
The petitions are being heard amid ongoing investigations into the functioning of the Mahavir Aqua factory and allegations regarding money connected to singer Zubeen Garg.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) informed the court that funds allegedly belonging to Garg were misappropriated and subsequently used in connection with the facility.
The Fast Track Court had originally ordered the factory to be sealed on April 29. However, allegations later surfaced that the facility continued to operate under Gopen Sharma despite the official order.
The High Court will consider all submissions and objections during today’s proceedings.
