Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court on Thursday fixed August 13 as the next date of hearing in the Zubeen Garg murder case after hearing a petition filed by Shyamkanu Mahanta and considering the submissions made by the parties.

The High Court is also scheduled to hear three separate petitions filed by Siddhartha Sharma on the next date of hearing as proceedings in the case continue.

One of the petitions seeks the de-freezing of bank accounts seized during the investigation. Another seeks access to the investigation report received from Singapore, while the third relates to issues arising from the ongoing legal proceedings in the case.

The court is also expected to hear a separate petition filed by Mahabir Aqua.

Meanwhile, the hearing on the bail applications of two bodyguards accused in the case has been deferred. The matter will now be taken up by the court of Mitali Thakuria on the next scheduled date.

Multiple petitions relating to the investigation and other legal issues in the Zubeen murder case remain pending before the Gauhati High Court.
