Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta inaugurated a 50-bedded covid-19 critical care facility sponsored by former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s Foundation at the Assam Medical College (AMC) in Dibrugarh.
The virtual inauguration of the facility was attended by Yuvraj Singh, Founder of YouWeCan Foundation, Yuvraj Singh’s mother Shabnam Singh, Poonam Nanda, Mentor & Founding Member of YouWeCan Foundation, Shabir Momin, MD & CTO of OneDigital Entertainment, Kshitija Krishnaswamy, Managing Director of Corporate Citizenship, Accenture India and Superintendent of Assam Medical College Dr Prasanta Dihingia.
In a tweeted message health minister Keshab Mahanta said, “Another important step in our fight against #COVID19.Thanks to @YUVSTRONG12 & Shabnam Singh, @YOUWECAN Foundation, Shabir Momin MD One Digital Entertainment & Kshitija Krishnaswamy MD @AccentureIndia for donating 50 bedded COVID facility with ICU & Oxygen Support at @AMCHDibrugarh. The support from @YOUWECAN Foundation has boosted not only our capacity, but also our confidence to fight #COVID19. Beyond COVID-19, this soon to be 100 bedded facilities, shall be utilised for children with cancer.”

The 50-bedded facility at the AMC will be further upgraded to a 100 bedded one
