The 17th convocation of Tezpur University will be held on Monday (December 23) at KalaguruBishnu Prasad Rabha Auditorium, a university release informed.
Unlike previous years, this year the convocation will be held in a simple function to be attended by DP Singh, Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC), as the chief guest.
Over 800 students will be awarded various degrees and diplomas in the convocation by Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi, the Chancellor of Tezpur University.
The pre-convocation cultural function, meanwhile, has been cancelled.
All the participants including awardees and members of the academic council and board of management will take part in the convocation rehearsals on the previous day of the convocation.
