“Congress and AIUDF alliance for the Rajya Sabha polls will be detrimental to each of them,” said Dibrugarh MLA Prashanta Phukan.
He was interacting with the media on Wednesday after the Assam Legislative Assembly session.
“We all know the consequences of consuming potassium cyanide. This alliance will yield similar results for both the Congress and the AIUDF,” he further said.
On being asked if BJP is taking any vitamin to counter the opposition’s cyanide, Phukan said, “Our development is our vitamin.”
“In the morning when a woman goes to the toilet to take bath, she remembers Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Phukan said.
“When she cooks food on the gas stove or sends her son to the school, she remembers Narendra Modi,” he added.
“In a nutshell, Narendra Modi is remembered right from the beginning of the day to the end. He is remembered for his good works and the development the BJP has brought in the country.”
“This development is our vitamin and we need not worry about anything else,” Phukan added.
Speaking further about the Congress-AIUDF alliance, Phukan said, “Due to this partnership, Congress will lose seats in Upper Assam and AIUDF in Lower Assam in the 2021 Assembly polls.”
He also said that both the partners have been in alliance since a very long time.
“It has come to the light only now,” he said.
