With six new cases reported from Tezpur on Friday afternoon, Assam’s Covid-19 tally rose to 222.
Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the six cases were reported from Tezpur quarantine centre in Sonitpur district.

Earlier in the day, a total of six cases–one each from Udalguri, Dhakuakhana, Cachar and Hailakandi and two from Sivasagar–were reported.
Four patients were discharged from Silchar Medical College Hospital after they fully recovered while two were discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital in Guwahati.
A total of 54 patients in Assam have been discharged from hospitals so far.
While on Thursday the state registered 25 positive cases, on Wednesday, 28 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
