Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is in Assam Campaigning for the grand-old party for the third phase of Assam Assembly elections has given the Congress party’s “sixth guarantee” to the people of Assam.

Rahul Gandhi, while campaigning for the Congress party in Assam said that the new Congress-led Government in the State, if voted to power, “will run Assam from Assam itself”.

Rahul Gandhi ‘guaranteed’ that there will be no interference on the functioning of the new Congress-led Assam Government, if voted to power in the State.

“The Congress party has already the people of Assam five guarantees. Today, I give you our sixth guarantee – We will run the Mahajot Government in Assam from Assam itself,” Rahul Gandhi asserted.

“There will be no interference from New Delhi on the functioning of the new Congress-led Assam Government,” Rahul Gandhi added.

Further slamming the BJP over rising unemployment in Assam, Rahul Gandhi claimed that Assam accounts for the highest unemployment of youth in the entire country.

Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP has no clue about how to provide employment to the youth of Assam.

“Assam accounts for highest unemployment in entire country. Youth of Assam are being haunted by the rise in unemployment. How will the youth get jobs? Where will they get jobs? The BJP has no idea,” said Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election rally in Assam on Wednesday.

Rahul Gandhi further said that the Congress party is committed to protect the cultural heritage and identity of Assam.

“Unlike the BJP who spread lies, we the Congress party is committed to protest the culture and identity of Assam,” said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election rally at Chaygaon in Assam’s Kamrup (Rural) district slammed the BJP-led Assam Government for ordering the police to ‘fire’ upon unarmed civilians who were out on the streets to protest against the CAA in December 2019.

As many as five (5) persons were shot dead by the police during the anti-CAA protests in Assam.

Rahul Gandhi said that killing youth of the State during the anti-CAA protests in fact was an attempt by the BJP-Government in the State to ‘murder’ Assam.

“When I had come to meet family of Dipanjal Das (killed in Guwahati during anti-CAA protests in 2019), I felt that bullets weren’t fired at one youth, it was fired at Assam. It was attempted to murder Assam. He wasn’t just a youth, he was an idea. He was Assam,” Rahul Gandhi said while addressing an election rally at Chaygaon in Kamrup (Rural) district.
