“We will protect the jati, mati and bheti of Bodo Territorial Region.” This is what Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said during an election rally at Kalaigaon in Udalguri district on Thursday.

Chief Minister Sonowal appealed the people of Bodo Territorial Region to vote in favour of the BJP in the upcoming Bodo Territorial Council elections in order to ensure good governance.

Speaking at an election rally while campaigning for BJP candidate from the Mwdaibari constituency, Sonowal tried to highlight the State Government’s work for overall development.

He said that his government is working tirelessly to ensure equal development, equal dignity and equal opportunity to all sections of the people of the State.

He reiterated that if the BJP is voted to power in the BTC, it will ensure safeguard of the socio-cultural identity and rich heritage of every communities residing in Bodo Territorial Region.

“The Bodo areas should have been able to make considerable development at a rapid pace in every sector as other parts of the region, but the development has come at snail’s pace,” he said.

Chief Minister Sonowal further said, “The BTC election will decide the future of the people residing in Bodo areas.”

“We will develop the region by implementing each and every clause of the third Bodo Accord in letter and spirit,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mangaldoi Lok Sabha MP – Dilip Saikia, who accompanied the Chief Minister also appealed the people of BTR to vote for the BJP in the ensuing BTC polls and bring a three tier BJP government in Delhi-Dispur and Kokrajhar.
