As per the weather forecast of the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Guwahati under the India Meteorology Department rain, thundershower is very likely to occur on March 23, 2018 at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh and isolated places over other Northeastern States including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

However, as per the weather forecast thunderstorm accompanied with squall was likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland on March 22.

As per the forecast “Thunderstorm accompanied with squall is likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on March 23, 2018.”

According to the forecast, on March 23, the sky will remain mainly clear and partly cloudy. People will witness both maximum and minimum temperature.

Meanwhile, the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), Assam has started sending SMS to make people of the State about do’s and don’ts during bad weather mainly when situation like thunderstorms hitting any area.

On Thursday, many people received two SMSes from the SDMA, Assam one at 3 pm and another at 9 pm.

While in one SMS, the State Disaster Management Authority asked the SMS recipients to ‘avoid boarding an over-loaded ferry’ in the other SMS, it alerted the people stating ‘don’t venture out during storms. Stay indoors.”
