Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is happy with the newly-built Kongmu Kham (GoldenTemple) located in Namsai district of the State.

The temple has been constructed with excellent architectural design from Tai culture.

Expressing his feelings on his Twitter handle while uploading a picture of the golden temple at Namsai, the Arunachal CM stated: “This is Kongmu Kham (GoldenTemple) located in Namsai district with excellent architectural design from Tai culture.”

He also stated, “Do not mistake this photo to be from Thailand/Burma. We have our own Land of Pagodas in Arunachal.”

It may be mentioned that Arunachal, known for its bewildering scenic beauty and blessed with a favourable climate makes it an inseparable part of the entire region and attracts tourists from all across the world.

In the same way among the attractive destinations in Arunachal is the Golden Pagoda, or Khongmu-Kham in the local Tai Khamti language, stands besides the Patkai resort in Namsai.

Thousands of devotees, monks and followers of the Buddha throng every year to the temple as it is considered sacred and very significant.

It is to be noted that a pagoda is a tiered tower with multiple eaves, constructed in traditions originating as stupa in historic South Asia and further developed in East Asia or with respect to those traditions, common to Nepal, China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka and other parts of Asia.
