The Vigilance Awareness Week-2020 began at the zonal office of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in Guwahati and various other FCI offices across Northeast from October 27.

The Vigilance Awareness Week-2020 will continue till November 2, 2020.

On the occasion, banners and posters of Vigilance Awareness Week-2020 are being displayed at prominent places of the office premises to increase awareness among the people.

MK Gogoi, executive director of FCI Northeast, administered the integrity pledge to its employees including stakeholders on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Gogoi said the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week this year, as decided by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is ‘Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat’ (Vigilant India, Prosperous India).

Gogoi further said, “Vigilance and honesty have been a part of Indian culture” and urged all the FCI employees to uphold the spirit of vigilance as it is “essential for national prosperity”.

A plethora of week-long activities such as in-house quiz competition, essay competition and guest lectures have been lined up adhering to COVID19 protocol.

The activities have been lined up to create awareness amongst the employees and other stakeholders against corruption and promoting integrity in every aspect of life, the Public Relations Cell of FCI Zonal Office (Northeast) said.
