The Union Cabinet approved creation of a director’s post in six branches of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) including that of Changsari in Assam on Wednesday.
The starting salary of the director will be more than Rs 2 lakh.
The post would be created in the branches of AIIMS at Changsari in Assam, Raebareli and Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, Bathinda in Punjab, Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand’s Deogha.
The cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the creation of the post with “the basic pay of Rs 2,25,000 (fixed) plus NPA but not exceeding Rs 2,37,500”.
The director will be the chief executive officer of the institute and will be in-charge of its overall administration. The person will allocate duties to officers and employees of the institute, the statement said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of a unit of the Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Changsari in 2017.
To be constructed at a cost of Rs 1,123 crores as part of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana’, the unit is expected to be completed within the next four years.
It will have a hospital comprising 750 beds, a medical college for 100 MBBS students annually, a nursing college for 60 students each year and 22 super specialty departments including 16 operation theatres.
