Two persons of Goalpara district went missing under mysterious condition who went to Baghmara area of Meghalaya on Monday.

The vehicle they used to visit Baghmara was recovered from the forest under the Rongjeng police station of East Garo Hills on Wednesday.

The missing persons have been identified as Gulzar Ali and Hamid Ali under Goalpara police station.

Hamid is the driver of the vehicle that the duo used to visit Baghmara.

Hamid Ali’s family members on Wednesday complained that they received a ransom call against the release of the two.

The caller used Hamid Ali’s mobile phone to make the ransom call.

“The caller said if we don’t pay the ransom then the two-person would not be released,” Hamid Ali’s relatives informed the police.

They have also lodged an FIR with the Rongjeng police station and sought the help of Meghalaya police in this regard.
