Mumbai police had recently arrested two Turkish youths involved in many ATM fraud cases in Assam.

As per reports, the duo identified as Abdul Halik Yurgan and Eurah Igadi were arrested from a hotel at Colaba area in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The duo was found to be involved in over 60 cases of ATM frauds in Guwahati.

They had installed skimming machines in quite a number of ATM kiosks to dupe people and steal their money.

Assam police, who was on the lookout for them, got a whiff of them when they first withdrew Rs 11000 from an ATM kiosk in South Delhi.

After a complaint has been filed by a person, Assam police discovered that the ATM hackers were the same persons from an examination of CCTV images.

The Assam police later alerted the Mumbai police after the duo were discovered to have fled to Mumbai.

The Mumbai police found the duo after studying their call records and later arrested them from a hotel in Colaba.

During interrogation, the duo revealed that they were a part of a larger gang who were all involved in hacking ATM machines and stealing money.

The police found that the duo first installs skimming machines along with a secret camera in many ATM kiosks.

After customers insert their ATM cards into the machine to withdraw money, the magnetic code would be copied into the skimming machines and the camera would capture the passwords.

The accused persons would later use the data to make fake ATM cards and steal money.

On Thursday, the duo was brought to Assam who would later be produced in a local court.
