The body of a middle-aged woman – Lucky Munda – was recovered on Wednesday morning from Mundapara in Halflong Tea Estate.  The estate is about 100 km away from Dharmanagar Police Station (in Tripura). It is reported that her husband Sanjay Munda is involved in her murder and has since been arrested.

After getting information about the murder, the Dharmanagar Police led by Dharmanagar OC and SDPO Rajeev Sutradhar reached the spot. A dog squad was also pressed into service. The cops recovered the body from the balcony of a shop at Mundapara. Meanwhile, the police have also recovered a tampered ID card, a sharp weapon and three bags full of clothes. Several injury marks were found on the face of the woman.

The local people told the police that the couple (read the woman who was murdered and her husband) was quarrelling at the top of their voices on Tuesday night. After some time, the duo left but again came back. And the rest as they say is history. The police have sent the body for postmortem and are investigating the case. Based on the statements of the locals, the police nabbed the husband Sanjay from a nearby jungle in a “fully intoxicated” state.
