Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Education Minister Ratanlal Nath felicitated national awardee teacher Sutapa Sur at Agartala on Thursday.

Sur, Headmistress of Kalikishore Higher Secondary School of Udaipur in Gomati district, 50 km from here, was awarded the National Award for Teachers at New Delhi on September 5 for her contributions to the education sector in Tripura.

She received the award from President Ram Nath Kovind on National Teachers’ Awards ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while congratulating Sutapa Sur, tweeted: “Ms. Sutapa Sur from Tripura is an inspiration for everyone.”

Her approach to the overall development of students of her school has shown remarkable success in the results of the students. She has focused on education through co-curricular as well as cultural activities.
