Assam Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sushmita Dev, on Tuesday, took oath as Rajya Sabha MP from West Bengal.
Sushmita Dev took oath as a Rajya Sabha MP at New Delhi on Tuesday.
Vice President and chairman of the Rajya Sabha – M Venkaiah Naidu administered the oath to Sushmita Dev in his chamber.
Dev was elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed in by-election from West Bengal.
Sushmita Dev took the oath of office in Bengali language.
“It’s an honour to be a part of the TMC team in the upper house. Together we will fight for the people and protect the interest of the nation under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee,” said Sushmita Dev after taking oath as an MP.

Along with Sushmita Dev, S Selvaganabathy also took oath as a Rajya Sabha MP from Puducherry on Tuesday.
Selvaganabathy took oath of office in Tamil language.
Union minister of parliamentary affairs – Pralhad Joshi, minister of minority affairs – Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and senior officials of the Rajya Sabha secretariat were also present during the swearing-in ceremony.
