Three ULFA (I) linkmen apprehended by Army in Dibrugarh

The Dao Division of Indian Army on Friday apprehended three ULFA (I) linkmen from different areas of Dibrugarh district.

They were identified as Haren Chandra Das, Mukib Ahmed and Sushil Pradhan.

According to sources, acting on a tip off about the presence of three ULFA (I) over ground workers, the 9th battalion of Rajputana Rifles launched an operation and apprehended three of them from different locations of Dibrugarh.

Recently 9th battalion the Rajputana Rifles has conducted several successful operations to mitigate the impact of ULFA (I) in upper Assam. This operation is also a major part of the ongoing crack down by security forces against the terrorist outfit active in Upper Assam.

An FIR was lodged at Dibrugarh police station.

According to police, three of them were involved many crimes and working in upper Assam as linkmen of ULFA (I).

Security forces have launched operation against the terror outfit and apprehended many cadres from upper Assam in recent past. This year Independence Day celebration was peaceful in entire Assam because the security forces have thwarted all the plans of insurgent groups.
