Three more persons in Assam died of COVID-19 on Friday, taking the state tally to 35.
The deceased have been identified as Ashok Jain (63), Vinod Kumar (47), and Dipali Dutta (65).

The three were admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
They had severe pneumonia and were on invasive ventilation.
In a tweet, state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Sad & anguished to inform that 3 #COVID patients – Sri Ashok Jain (63) of Athgaon, Sri Vinod Kumar (47) of Jalukbari & Mrs Dipali Dutta (65) of Sarumataria admitted at GMCH succumbed to their infection today. They had severe pneumonia & were on invasive ventilation.”
