Those who violate norms in quarantine centres will be arrested, said Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Biswanath on Thursday.

“Those who violate the quarantine centre norms and create ruckus will be charged with an offence as grave as a murder attempt,” Sarma said.

“They will face non-bailable charges,” Sarma added.

During his visit to the district, Sarma further urged the people in quarantine centres to immediately report to health department officials if they face any problem.

“If you face any problem, instead of creating a ruckus report it immediately to the officials. They will try to resolve the issue at the earliest,” he said.
