In order to familiarize and popularize the concept of Corporate Governance, department of business administration and department of commerce of Tezpur University under the aegis of the National Foundation for Corporate Governance (NFCG), New Delhi, is going to organize a one-day seminar on Corporate Governance & Companies Act, 2013 at the University on October 27.
The event is organized for creating the essence of corporate governance among participants.

Ravi Capoor, Additional Chief Secretary, Assam Public Enterprise department will be inaugurating the event.
The event will be addressed by Amitava Banerjee, Consultant, NFCG, New Delhi beside a host of practitioners.
Two research papers will also be presented in the seminar. There will be a quiz competition on Corporate Governance among the participants.

The objective of the seminar is to discuss various aspects of The Companies Act, 2013, which has brought revolutionary changes in the field of corporate governance, said Subhrangshu Sekhar Sarkar, Head, department of commerce and chief convener of the seminar.
National Foundation for Corporate Governance (NFCG) was set up in the year 2003 by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to promote good Corporate Governance practices both at the level of individual corporates and Industry as a whole.
In the year 2010, Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) and in 2013 Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) were included in NFCG as Trustees.
