During an official visit, the Upper Assam Divisional Commissioner Julie Sonowal on Saturday formally launched e-office at the Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner’s office.

In this connection, a meeting was held at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar.
Appreciating the prompt response, the Upper Assam Divisional Commissioner congratulated the district administration for its initiative in putting a giant step forward towards embracing paperless system.
“With the office of the Deputy Commissioner transitioning towards a complete electronic file management system, four more offices of the district, namely, office of the Superintendent of Police, office of the District Transport Officer, Agriculture office and Zila Parishad will also come under the e-office system,” she informed.
Attending the meeting the Deputy Commissioner Dr. S Lakshmanan elaborated upon the advantages of e-office.
He said, “With the benefit of having zero maintenance cost, the system will not only provide full confidentiality of the office files but will also save us from the worries of space management.”
The Sivasagar DC asked the officers and staff of the DC’s office to prepare and adapt themselves to the new mode of file management and set a model for others to emulate, not only in the district but in the state as well.
“The success of the system will depend largely on the quality, dedication and involvement of the manpower working with the system,” he stated.
He also assured of extending hand-holding and all possible support to make this initiative a grand success.
The Deputy Commissioner elaborately highlighted the importance of e-office and the facilities available in the system for better services delivery to the citizen.
