Senior Congress leader and leader of the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia has condemned the cold-blooded killing of five innocent people of a particular community at Kherbari village, around six km from Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu (Dhola-Sadiya bridge) under Dhola Police Station in Tinsukia district of Assam on Thursday.

“My heart goes out to the victims and their families,” he said.

Saikia said that he had warned during his press conference on Thursday that the policy of polarization was tacitly condoned or even sponsored by the BJP-led government in Assam and that this might lead to a gory conflict.
