Sensation prevails as the news of rape and murder of a 13-year-old Reang girl by a 23-year-old youth from the Muslim community that took place recently in Hailakandi district spread.
At a time when most of the people and different organizations have demanded strong punishment to the culprit, a group of people has allegedly been trying to create communal tension over the incident.
On the social media, many people have posted provocative comments which could create law and order situation.
In this scenario, some of the social organisations have come forward in protest against a section people’s alleged attempt to create communal tension in the district.
The organizations which have come out to the street are All Assam Student and Youth Organisation , Janashakti Seva Samity and Common People Forum.
These organisations have submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi district in order to take proper measures so that no communal tension can disturb the otherwise peaceful district.
Talking to media persons, the central president of the All Assam Student and Youth Organisation Janun Laskar and Janashakti Seva Samity leader Jahan Uddin said, “The incident of 13-year-old girl’s rape and murder is a worst crime and nobody can support it. So, nobody should see from which community or religion the culprit is belonging to. Culprit is a culprit.”
The leaders of the protesting organization also appealed to the district administration to take stringent measures against those who are trying to disturb the social harmony among different communities in the district.
