The second edition of Federation Cup Roll Ball Championship kick started at the Deshbhakta Tarun Phookan Indoor Stadium in Guwahati on Thursday.
Vice chairperson of the Sports Authority of Assam, Queen Ojha inaugurated the championship.
NERIM Director Dr Sangeeta Tripathi was also present in the inauguration ceremony.
On the opening day, Assam women’s team defeated Tamil Nadu 4-1 while the men’s team got the better of Jharkhand by a margin of 3-2.
In the other matches held on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh trounced Jammu and Kashmir 11-2 in the men’s category while Chhattisgarh played a 1-1 draw against Jammu and Kashmir in the women’s section.
In another match, Assam defeated Delhi 4-2 in the men’s category.
The tournament is being organized by the Assam Roll ball Association.
