Lakhimpur District Journalists’ Association today took out a protest march on the streets of Lakhimpur town against the unwarranted misbehavior of the President of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and Dhubri MP, Badruddin Ajmal with an electronic media journalist.

The scribe’s body of Lakhimpur district wearing black mask and holding placards with slogans took out a silent protest march from North Lakhimpur Press Club to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and submitted a memorandum to the President of India.

The body demanded legal action as per the Parliamentary provisions against the Dhubri MP by the President. The Lakhimpur District Journalist Association also urged the President to ensure safety and security of the journalists of the country.

Meanwhile, Journalists of Entire Hojai district staged a silent protest in front of DC Office, Sankar Dev Nagar, Hojai on Friday against the un-parliamentary /derogatory remarks of Dhubri MP and the AIUDF  chief Badruddin Ajmal towards Journalist  at Hatsingmari on 26th December 26.

Memorandum was also submitted to the Lok Sabha Speaker through Hojai District  Deputy Commissioner (I/C)  Prasantha Barua regarding this matter.

Another demonstration was  staged at the same venue demanding justice for recent incident of mysterious death  of Journalist  Arurindham Choudhury (of DY 365) of Bamungaon in Lanka on December 8 last.

Sanjit Sarkar, President Hojai Press along media persons of both print and electronic media came down heavily and lambasted   Dhurbi MP and AIUDF supremo Badruddin Ajmal for derogatory  remarks on Journalists at Hatsingmari.

He said Badruddin shahab should seek apology formally from entire media fraternity, this type of remarks and gesture are unexpected.

On the other hand, journalists of district  demanded Justice for the slain Journalist Arurindham Choudhury as early as possible.

Body of  Arurindham Choudhury  a Correspondent of DY365 from Lanka, was found in mysterious conditions at his own residence in Bamungaon of Lanka on December 8 last.
