Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on Friday said that the health department in Assam has targeted getting all students of the schools vaccinated by January 9.
Mahanta said all district administrations are directed to ensure that all students get vaccinated by January 9.
He informed that the vaccination drive in schools and other educational institutions will start from January 3, 2022.

All the students will be vaccinated with COVAXIN and the second dose of the vaccine is targeted by February 9.

The health minister also added that with the vaccinations being completed for the students, the students will be prepared for their HSLC and HS exams.

He added that this year the exams will be held offline and guardians were asked to be prepared.
The Health Minister also informed about the COVID-19 preparation stating that 9000 beds have been kept prepared.

Of these 9000, 1000 ICU beds will be dedicated to COVID-19 patients only while 2600 will be oxygen beds.
