Biswas was arrested on March 22 from a place close to Bangladesh border in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas.

A division bench of SC judge asked the counsel of Assam Government if the government has any objection if he is barred from participating in any public function and granted conditional bail to Biswas.

The Silapathar incident that took place on March 6 had sparked off widespread protests with the several organisations viewing it as an attack on the Assamese by the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
