The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a petition filed against senior lawyer Prashanta Bhusan in connection with Ranjan Gogoi sexual harassment case.

A bench of chief justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi refused to entertain the public interest litigation filed by advocate ML Sharma who claimed that Bhushan had “admitted” that he was behind the sexual harassment allegation against the CJI.

When Sarma mentioned before the CJI that Bhushan has “admitted” his involvement in the case, Chief Justice Gogoi said,”Mention before some other bench, not this bench.”

CJI Gogoi has been accused of sexual assault by a former staffer who worked as a junior assistant at the  Supreme Court between May 2014 and December 2018.
