Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit, a youth organisation in Guwahati and the Guwahati Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) on Tuesday donated to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
A delegation of the Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit met Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Chief Minister’s Office and handed over a cheque.

The delegation also felicitated the Assam CM.
“The chief minister was bestowed with organisation most prestigious citation ‘Spirit of Service”, which he humbly accepted. It was bestowed for his sincere devotion & contribution in public services to Assam, which Inspires youth at large,” the organisation said in a statement.
During the meeting, the chief minister was appraised about the activities of the organisation.

The organisation further said: “In the past Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had applauded the organisation for its exemplary work in sanitary pads awareness & donation in rural areas of Assam. He was happy that youth are coming forward to continue back to the state & asked all the members to ‘continue the good work’.”
The club has a rich history of hosting dignitaries like Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi, former Cabinet minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya.
The delegation was led by Tushar Jalan, Rotaract district head of 9 states, Chirag Surana, president, Prashi Sharma, secretary and other council members.
On behalf of the Guwahati Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA), its president Kalyan Kumar Das and general secretary Bhaskar Sarma extended their heartiest congratulations to the newly-elected chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday in his official chamber.
GLTA hoped under his leadership the state can rise as strong force at the national and international level in the field of sports and there will be unparalleled developments in the field of sports and games in the state.
The GLTA delegation handed over a cheque of Rs. 25,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as a gesture of solidarity towards the Assam government’s fight against the Covid19 pandemic.
