Two female rhinos of Kaziranga National Park today were translocated to Manas National Park under the Indian Rhino Vision ( IRV) 2020 on Saturday.
MK Yadava, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Chief Wildlife Warden of Assam said that as per the plan, two female rhinos (one mature and another sub adult) were captured at Bagori for translocation to Manas National Park.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Utpal Bora, CCF, Assam and was coordinated by WWF-India, IRF, Wildlife Trust of India and Aaranyak.
Yadava said that under IRV, there was a target to increase rhino population in Assam to 3000 and the population now stands at 2841 in the State.
He said Manas now has more than 40 rhinos which is a good population compared to some years back.
