Relatives of India’s fifth president Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed failed to pass the citizenship test and find themselves among the 1.9 million people left out of the final NRC list published on Saturday.
Names of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed’s nephew- Ziauddin Ali Ahmed- and his family were left out of the final NRC.

Their names did not feature in the draft NRC as well, which was published in July earlier this year.
Speaking to the reporters then, Ziauddin had said, “I am former President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed’s nephew and my name is missing in the NRC since my father’s name is not in the legacy data.”
“We are little worried about it,” he added.

In the final NRC published on Saturday, names of 19,06,657 persons out of 3,30,27,661 applicants were excluded.
