UNAKOTI HEALTH CAMP

With a view to provide a healing touch to the locals, a three-day mega health camp organized by Red Horns Division under Gajraj Corps was inaugurated on Monday to provide medical support to people of village Ikrabari and nearby remote areas of Udalguri district.

Four Army medical officers from Red Horns Division and eight civil doctors, nurses and medical staff from a mobile medical unit participated in the medical camp.

A team from Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP), Rashtriya Bal Suraksha Karyakaram (RBSK) also participated in the camp.

On the first day of the camp, free medical check-up and medicines were provided to around 1,850 patients.

In addition to distribution of medicines, the Army camp at Golandi also distributed wheel chairs, hearing aid and crutches.

Malaria detection and treatment was also taken up as part of the health camp.

A cultural programme was also organized by Gaon Sabha of Ikrabari where the Army Band enthralled the people of the locality.

‘Join Indian Army’ stall was also set up to make the youth aware as to how to join the armed forces.

Army officers also interacted and motivated the youth about the tangible benefits of joining the armed forces.
