The Dibrugarh district administration began rapid testing across the district from Wednesday.

As many as 69 persons were found positive for the novel coronavirus on the first day of rapid antigen testing which was carried out in 9 COVID testing centres (CTC).

Altogether 316 rapid antigen tests were done during the day.

Earlier, the district administration had set up 27 COVID testing centres (CTC) across Dibrugarh.

Dibrugarh, which is Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s home district, has seen a sudden jump in COVID-19 cases recently.

On Wednesday, the total number of COVID cases in the district touched 1,463 with the addition of 150 new cases including the 69 rapid testing positive cases.

On Wednesday, rapid testing was carried out in 9 of the 27 camps from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
