bribe

Congress leader Sachin Sahoo has questioned Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on how could a police officer dare to accept a bribe in broad daylight even after strict warnings from the CM.

Sahoo put this question forward after a Sub-Inspector of the Assam Police was arrested in Hailakandi district’s Patharkandi for accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 in broad daylight.

The arrested police officer was identified as Jitendra Singha who had allegedly accepted the bribe in exchange of a report.

However, after this incident, Sahoo question the CM asking how could a police official dare to do such an act when the CM had issued several warnings against corruption.

He said, “Is this the Ramrajya that the BJP and the CM had been talking about?”
