bribe

Congress leader Sachin Sahoo has questioned Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on how could a police officer dare to accept a bribe in broad daylight even after strict warnings from the CM.

Sahoo put this question forward after a Sub-Inspector of the Assam Police was arrested in Hailakandi districtโ€™s Patharkandi for accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 in broad daylight.

The arrested police officer was identified as Jitendra Singha who had allegedly accepted the bribe in exchange of a report.

However, after this incident, Sahoo question the CM asking how could a police official dare to do such an act when the CM had issued several warnings against corruption.

He said, โ€œIs this the Ramrajya that the BJP and the CM had been talking about?โ€
