A police constable in Haflong has been arrested on Friday for supplying vital government call data records to a private detective agency. The accused constable Bhubaneswar Das was working with the cyber cell of Dima Hasao Police Super’s office.
Dima Hasao Police swung into action after receiving a letter in this regard from Thane Police in Maharastra. They arrested Das who later confessed to his crime. Das has been sent to jail and placed under suspension.
The accused was involved in supplying vital government data to mint quick bucks since February 2017. A CDR has been recovered from his laptop.
Talking to Northeast Now Addl SP Dima Hasao, Pushparaj Singha said a case has been registered in Thane in Mumbai last month. Several persons were arrested in this connection. Involvement of Bhubanesawr Das came to light after the arrests of these persons and sent a letter in this regard to Dima Hasao police. Investigation is on.
