The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has grounded the pilots of SpiceJet’s Boeing 737 aircraft that overshot the runway of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport in Guwahati on Saturday morning.
The regulator has also issued show-cause notices to the pilots and initiated probes into the mishaps, sources said.
A Bengaluru-Guwahati SpiceJet flight overshot the runway while landing around 8.30 in the morning on Saturday.
Luckily no one on board the aircraft was injured. There were around 150 passengers on the flight.
Sources said a few lights on the runway were also damaged in the incident.
