Mystery shrouds the death of one Kangkan Kalita, aged 31, a CSE research scholar of the Tezpur University who was found dead at his room in the University campus on Friday.
Kalita was supposed to appear in an examination on Friday but he did not turn up. In the afternoon, when his friends came to inquire about him, his room was found locked.
The PhD scholar hails from Jorhat. He is currently a student of first semester in the department of computer science and engineering of the Tezpur University.
He was doing his PhD under QIP programme and was working with CIT Kokrajhar.
His body has been sent for postmortem examination at Tezpur Kanaklata Civil Hospital.
“The reason behind his death will be ascertained once the post mortem report comes out,” Dhanapati Deka, Dean of Student Welfare Association of the University told Northeast Now.
