Petrol is being sold in Guwahati at Rs 75.80 per litre and Diesel at Rs 67.40 a litre. In Delhi, petrol is being sold at Rs 73.83 a litre and Rs 81.69 at Mumbai in Indian Oil pumps.

Petrol and Diesel prices rose again on Monday. Petrol prices are now hovering over four-year peak in the country and diesel is at an all-time high following a rapid rise in international rates led by strong global demand.

The prices of non-branded petrol were raised by 10-11 paise per litre in different metro cities on Monday while diesel prices were increased by 11-12 paise.

The last time petrol rate was higher in September 2014, when it touched Rs 76.06. The previous high for diesel price was on February 7, 2018, when it hit Rs 64.22.

Earlier this year, Oil Ministry sought a reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel to cushion the impact of rising international oil rates.
