Passenger train services between Silchar in Assam and Bairabi in Mizoram will resume from this week.

The development was confirmed by the Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) via a statement.

The passenger train services between Silchar and Bairabi will be a bi-weekly service.

The train services between the two towns will resume operations from September 10 (Friday).

“Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to resume the services of passenger special train between Silchar and Bairabi from this week for the benefit of local passengers,” the NFR stated in its statement.

It adds: “Services of Train No. 05567/05568 Silchar – Bairabi – Silchar passenger special have been resumed as bi-weekly service w.e.f. 10-09-2021.”

“The train will leave from Silchar on every Tuesday and Friday at 16-55 hours to reach Bairabi at 21-00 hours and leave from Bairabi on every Wednesday and Saturday at 05-30 hours to reach Silchar at 09-20 hours,” the NFR further informed.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has also informed that the “services of weekly special train between Agartala (in Tripura) and Secunderabad (has been) extended”.

“Services of Train No. 07030/07029 Secunderabad – Agartala – Secunderabad weekly special have been extended to run for more three trips,” the NFR said.

It added: “The train will leave from Secunderabad on 13th, 20th and 27th September, 2021 (Monday) and from Agartala on 17th, 24th September and 1st October, 2021 (Friday).”

“The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available in IRCTC website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of NF Railway,” said NFR.

“…during train journey and on arrival at their destination, the passengers will have to adhere to prevailing health protocols of the destination state. All passengers are requested to co-operate with the railway and respective state govt officials in this regards.”
