On the occasion of International Women’s Day, MSME-Development Institute, Guwahati is organising a one day National Seminar on Market Access Initiatives cum Women Entrepreneur Conclave, 2018 on March 8 in Guwahati. Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi will inaugurate the seminar.

The seminar is being organized in association with Small Industries Development Bank of India and Laghu Udyog Bharati

Women entrepreneurs from this region have played a major role in the growth of the economy in the north-eastern region. They are primarily engaged in the conventional sectors like agriculture, handloom & handicrafts, food processing, beauty & wellness sector.

Even though successive governments have formulated various schemes for uplift of women entrepreneurs, it is observed that the benefits of these schemes do not percolate to every nook and corner of the region either due to the remoteness of the area or due to lack of awareness.

The seminar is aimed at creating awareness amongst the women entrepreneurs of the region, regarding the Resources, Technology, Environment, Policy Support & Facilities available to them besides discussing financial issues.

Representatives from state governments of the north-eastern region, bank & financial institutions, research organisations, industry bodies and successful women entrepreneurs are expected to participate in the seminar.
