The Assam Congress leader said that though his mother Sital Somani recently resigned from primary membership of the Indian National Congress (INC) and joined the BJP, it does not reflect his decision to switch party.

“While my mother recently decided to join the BJP, this does not reflect my own decision. I will continue to uphold my belief in the Congress party and support its principles and values,” Assam Congress leader Gaurav Somani said.

Somani further said that he will continue to work diligently for the welfare of the people of Assam and strive to fulfil their aspirations.
