A report published on Friday stated that Panagiotis Triadis has joined the Club on a direct transfer from Apollon Smyrnis Football Club for the 2018/19 season.

This valued signing marks an unprecedented episode of a direct transfer between a Greek Super League Club and an Indian Super League Club, it stated.

Panagiotis Triadis has represented the German National Team from U-15 to U-17 levels and the Greece National Team for the U-19 level.

Triadis is a versatile attacking midfielder having an excellent vision and a tremendous range of passing and can play through the wings possessing deceptive pace to break into an attack.

The 26-year-old footballer combines German precision to set the tempo and makes things tick in the centre of the park along with Greek strength and physicality to orchestrate the midfield.

According to the report, having plied his trade in clubs like SV Wehen Wiesbaden, Xanthi FC and Apollon Smyrnis FC, Triadis brings in a wealth of experience to reinforce NEUFC’s attacking repertoire for the ongoing season.

The report quoted NEUFC coach Eelco Schattorie as saying: “Triadis is a player that can play on the wings and midfield. He has the German fighting spirit in him which is always welcome. Hope he hits the ground running as we are already short on time. We welcome him into our family and support him all the way.”

It has been reported that Triadis has been roped in the squad as Augustine Okrah had to cut short his spell in the Indian Super League (ISL) after sustaining a serious injury.
