The Kendriya Vidyalaya of Haflong in Dima Hasao district of Assam has finally got its permanent principal after a long wait of five years.
The new principal Manoj Kumar assumed charge on Monday.
Notably, Northeast Now has been publishing series of news regarding the unhygienic condition of the classrooms, dilapidated state of the school building and the need to appoint a permanent principal at Kendriya Vidyalaya of Haflong.
Finally, the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development paid heed to the long felt needs of the Haflong Kendriya Vidyalaya by appointing a permanent principal.
Talking to Northeast Now on Tuesday, the newly appointed principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Haflong said that the new building of the school is almost complete.
Now the road construction work is at its final stage and once the same is completed, the classrooms will be shifted to the new building, he said.
The newly appointed principal has himself admitted that the present school building is in a deplorable condition.

Manoj Kumar was serving at Kendriya Vidyalaya Rohini at Sector 25 of the national capital.
Notably, Haflong Kendriya Vidyalaya has a permanent principal in the form of M B Chettri way back in 2013.
The school has been functioning with temporary principal since then for the last five years.
